The first Wednesday in November is ‘Take Our Kids to Work Day’ in Canada. Since 1994 parents, relatives and family friends have been taking Grade 9 students to work to help link school with the world of work.

Array plays a valuable role in helping shape the career development aspirations, decisions and pathways for students at early and critical stages of their journey. We, as active participants, invite students of our employees, their friends and relatives to participate every year.

This year we welcomed 15 students from various high schools in Toronto. The students were engaged throughout the day, learning about the business of retail merchandising, taking part in design & manufacturing, experiencing the workplace and even making some new friends.

We had the students create personalized plastic key chains as part of their day. Using graphic design software, screen printing techniques and laser etching machinery, the kids received hands on experience working in a manufacturing environment.

We look forward to hosting the next group of students exploring career opportunities at Take Our Kids to Work™ day in 2017!

Take Your Kids to Work

Take Our Kids to Work™ is sponsored by The Learning Partnership, a national charitable organization and is now active in all provinces and territories across the country. It helps students see and experience real workplaces and professions and enables them to see the world of work from another perspective than the one they piece together from adult conversations with Mom, Dad and others. The program enables the entire community – parents, teachers, employers and employees – to play an important role in the development of young Canadians.
